Jesse Funaki, Son Of Sho Funaki, To Debut For TNA Wrestling On Xplosion

The son of Funaki to make his TNA debut.

While TNA Wrestling was in El Paso, Texas, for their Final Resolution special, they taped episodes of TNA iMPACT and filmed bouts for the Xplosion show.

One of the Xplosion matches saw Jake Something take on Jesse Funaki, who is the son of former WWE Cruiserweight and Hardcore Champion Sho Funaki.

TNA sent out a video on their social media pages of Jesse Funaki backstage interacting with The System (Moose, Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards & J.D.C.). Myers stated that Jesse was trying out for The System as they are looking for a new member for when J.D.C. retires after TNA Genesis 2026.

Jesse Funaki began his in-ring career in 2024. He hails from the state of Texas and has competed for various independent promotions in the state, such as New Texas Pro, United210, and River City Wrestling.
