Cody Rhodes: John Cena Told Me, ‘If You Listen To The Audience, You’ll Never Go Wrong’

Cody Rhodes has often said how much he’s learned from John Cena as he drove Cena around when he was a rookie in WWE.

Rhodes has ascended to the spot that Cena occupied for years, firmly at the top of the card as a multi-time WrestleMania main eventer and WWE Champion.

Speaking to WWE, Rhodes revealed the best advice he’s received from Cena.

“The best advice that John Cena has ever given me, and he’s given it to numerous talent — it sounds redundant but it’s really not. Listen to the audience. If you do, you’ll never go wrong,” he said.

Cena spent a good portion of his final year working with Cody Rhodes as the two headlined WrestleMania 41 and WWE SummerSlam.

Cena competed in his last match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, losing to Gunther.
