Thea Hail Def. Blake Monroe For Women’s North American Title In Awkward Finish On 12/16 WWE NXT

A title change in the opening match.

Starting the in-ring action of the December 16th edition of WWE NXT on The CW was an NXT Women’s North American Championship match.

Blake Monroe put the title on the line against Thea Hail. The bout concluded with a new champion being crowned in an awkward finish to the match.

Hail catapulted herself off the ring ropes and landed back-first onto Monroe. She proceeded to hook the leg, and the referee started his count. The referee went through with his count, and Monroe did not get her shoulder up until after the three-count.

Monroe won the Women’s North American Title in October at the Halloween Havoc Premium Live Event. The match against Hail was her second defense of the belt.
