Mercedes Mone And Athena To Challenge For AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles At AEW Worlds End

Mercedes Mone & Athena will challenge the Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale) for the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles at AEW Worlds End.

The match was made official on the December 17th episode of AEW Dynamite.

Mercedes and Athena teamed with Megan Bayne & Marina Shafir to take on Willow, Harley, Toni Storm, and Mina Shirakawa.

Mercedes scored the victory for her team, pinning Willow after Athena hit the O-Face.

In a backstage segment, Athena & Mercedes made the Women’s Tag Team Title challenge for Worlds End and the bout was made official shortly after.

Babes of Wrath are the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Champions, defeating Timeless Love Bombs (Storm & Shirakawa in the finals). This will be their first defense of the titles.

Babes of Wrath defeated Mercedes & Athena in the first round of the tournament.

While Willow & Harley are the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Mercedes is the reigning AEW TBS Champion and Athena is the ROH Women’s Champion.
