Eddie Kingston Explains His Mindset For Final Year On The Indies

In November, Eddie Kingston announced that he would finish up with the indies in November 2026.

He stated he would be taking one independent booking a month during his final year.

Appearing on What Happened When with Tony Schiavone and Conrad Thompson, Eddie said he would continue to take dates as he learns his AEW schedule, and that he is setting up all the dates himself.

Explaining the mentality behind one final year on the indies, Kingston said, “I’m doing it because I didn’t really get to do a not swansong, I just want to give one more nice little run and help out whoever these promotions want me to help out. That’s it. Without the independents, I wouldn’t have been fed for years and I wouldn’t have been able to survive to get to where I’m at now.”

Kingston worked for various independent promotions during his career before signing with AEW in 2020. He has taken a handful of independent dates since joining AEW.

Kingston is set to compete on ROH Boxing Day Brawl on Friday.
