MJF: When WWE Does Good Stuff I’m The First To Say Congratulations And Kudos

With WWE and AEW as the top pro wrestling companies in the United States, tribalism is as real as it gets. MJF, who just captured the second AEW World Championship of his career, spoke about the divide between fans when it comes to the two organizations.
“Normally journalists, no matter how many tickets we sell, no matter how many PPV buys we get, no matter how many top acts we have, they’re just not able to say what you just said,” MJF commented. Seconds earlier, he made Mostly Sports host Brandon Walker say AEW is, “doing an incredible job entertaining wrestling fans around the world, more so than in a long time.”
MJF added, “It’s almost as if they’re chasing a hug from a certain company. It’s odd, I can’t comprehend it. When WWE does good stuff, I’m the first person to say congratulations and kudos. But for some strange f*****g reason it’s almost as if there are certain journalists that are in a certain companies pocket. It’s just odd.”
An instance of this was seen during AEW Worlds End as Peter Rosenberg, a WWE employee, took a shot at the PPV that AEW National Champion Ricochet took offense to. This isn’t always the case, but it made for unique timing that his social media post came just hours before MJF’s interview went public.
