Tony Khan Says Jon Moxley Was Hurt To Start The Year, But Got Healthier Wrestling Every Week
Jon Moxley began 2025 as AEW World Champion, “holding the company hostage” in an effort to improve it.
He was a staple on AEW television, wrestling 53 total matches for the year. In wrestling so often, Tony Khan says Moxley got healthier as he continued to compete.
“Jon was pretty hurt at the start of the year,” Khan told Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated. “He was banged up, and he worked his way back in without ever taking time off. He’s been here all year, and he actually got healthier wrestling every week. The man’s a marvel.
“He put out his very best all year. At the beginning of the year, he was pretty banged up, and actually came back and got healthy through the year while he was still wrestling and never taking time off.”
Khan said that he was grateful for Moxley and that AEW owed him so much.
Jon Moxley became the new AEW Continental Champion at AEW Worlds End, defeating Kyle Fletcher in the semifinals and Kazuchika Okada in the finals.
