Drew McIntyre comments on winning the WWE title after touching down at home in Glasgow, Scotland.
On the January 9th edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes would meet in a Three Stages Of Hell match for the WWE Championship that culminated in a steel cage match as the final fall. After interference from Jacob Fatu, McIntyre was able to escape the cage and became the brand new WWE Undisputed Champion, something McIntyre has been saying he would do for quite some time now, and has now brought the title home to Scotland.
While speaking in a digital exclusive on WWE’s social media platforms, McIntyre spoke about reclaiming the WWE Championship and fulfilling his promise.
“Said I was bringing this title home. Took a few years, but I never lie. Officially on Scottish soil, WWE Champion. I say it’s surreal. It’s not, it’s just a matter of time. Thank God I am home. Went to university, 30 minutes from here, which is a hike, probably 15 minutes from here. Grew up 40 minutes from here.”
