DJ Khaled comments on John Cena’s retirement and his connection to the world of hip-hop throughout his career.
Last month, John Cena would compete in his final match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, when he would face off with Gunther in singles competition, losing by submission to ‘The Ring General’. Beginning in the early to mid 2000’s, Cena would begin to implement his love for rapping and hip-hop in general into his pro wrestling character, turning into the ‘Doctor of Thuganomics’ and releasing his own rap album soon after.
While speaking to the Rap On Wrestling Podcast in a new interview, DJ Khaled would comment on Cena’s retirement when asked, noting that he loved Cena’s connection to hip-hop.
“I mean, I love it because- you know what I’m saying? First of all, he’s doing so many other things and you see the growth and all the big wins and him repping hip-hop. You know what I mean? You know what I’m saying? I see it, I feel it, and I love it because it’s about cracking all the codes.”
Elsewhere in another recent interview, Elijah Burke spoke on his belief Cena may one day return to the ring if the money is good enough. You can read more about that here.
