Eddie Kingston: I Try Not To Pitch Anything Because I Don’t Want To Hear Shit From Anybody
Eddie Kingston and Ortiz reunited on AEW TV at AEW Worlds End when Ortiz helped Kingston against the Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson).
Kingston and Ortiz are long-time friends dating back to their time on the independents together, and Kingston has always advocated for Ortiz in interviews or vlogs when speaking about him.
Talking with Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds, Kingston was asked if he pitched to reunite with Ortiz on TV.
“No. No one pitches shit. I try not to pitch nothing because I don’t want to hear shit from anybody. I have a problem where, I’ll pitch something and they’ll try to change and I’ll be like, ‘Nah, fuck it,’ or they’ll try to put somebody in there who I’m like, ‘That person sucks. I don’t understand why you think they’re good.’ I don’t pitch nothing. They’ve teamed us up before and people knew we wanted to (team). It wasn’t a secret. Who are you going to team me up with? I don’t like a lot of people and I’m not going to say yes to a lot of people. There is really no pitching because I don’t want to deal with people when I pitch anything. He doesn’t pitch anything because we don’t really give a fuck. We are there to do our jobs. We don’t book the show. It’s not our show. If you ask us our opinion, then get ready. I’m happy they see us together as a good team and I’m happy they [Tony Khan] decided to do it,” said Kingston.
Asked if he thought maybe Tony or someone was listening to him when he’s advocated for Ortiz in interviews, Kingston pointedly replied, “No, I don’t give them that credit.”
Kingston & Ortiz will team up to face Grizzled Young Veterans on AEW Collision Maximum Carnage on Saturday in a taped episode.
He will also be part of the BRCW x CCW Tribute Show to Jaka on January 17th. Fans can learn more about the event here.
