Mike Santana Bests Frankie Kazarian In Texas Deathmatch To Retain TNA World Title At TNA Genesis

At the end of the show, Nic Nemeth attempted to execute his title opportunity.

Closing out TNA Wrestling’s 2026 Genesis pay-per-view was a Texas Deathmatch for the TNA World Championship. It was at the TNA on AMC premiere show that Mike Santana dethroned Frankie Kazarian to regain the title.

After the match, Director of Authority Santino Marella made it official that Kazarian and Santana would compete at Genesis in a Texas Deathmatch with the title on the line. New on-screen authority figure Daria Rae (Sonya Deville) joined the fray and added Nic Nemeth as the special guest referee.

At the pay-per-view, Santana was able to defeat Kazarian to retain the championship. After the match, Nemeth hit Santana with the ‘Danger Zone’ and wanted to execute his Call Your Shot trophy for a TNA World Title match.

Before a referee could make their way to the ring to start the match, Santana got to his feet and laid Nemeth out with a ‘Spin the Block.’
