Yota Tsuji & Will Ospreay Spoke Backstage At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20, Both Want To Wrestle Each Other Again

Tsuji and Ospreay want to run it back.
Among those in attendance for Hiroshi Tanahashi’s final match and retirement ceremony at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 was AEW star Will Ospreay. Ospreay is recovering from the neck surgery he underwent in 2025.
While at the Tokyo Dome, Ospreay caught up with the newly crowned IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji. Tsuji recounted that moment while being interviewed by NJPW1972.com.
Tsuji brought up the match he had with Ospreay in September 2023 at Destruction in Kobe for the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Title. He said he and Ospreay both would like to wrestle each other again.
“That match was a real turning point in my career, I’m grateful to him for that. We actually spoke briefly backstage in the Tokyo Dome, he congratulated me on the belts and the match. We’d both like to again some time, so with this United Empire stuff… we’ll see.”
Ospreay showed up at NJPW New Year Dash and stated that when he’s cleared and handles some business in AEW, he’ll come back to New Japan to help Callum Newman reroute the path that United Empire is going in, and said they’ll do it Newman’s way.
While Ospreay had his back turned, Newman was about to attack him with a chair. Fellow members of United Empire stopped Newman from doing so.
