Undertaker Says Australia, Germany, And The UK Were His Favorite International Places To Wrestle

Undertaker talks his favorite international wrestling spots.
Throughout his 30+ year career, Undertaker competed in a ton of countries around the world. Still, ‘The Deadman’ picked out a few of his favorite locations while appearing on the latest episode of Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Wanna Talk About podcast.
“I loved Australia. I love going over there, I love the people over there. Then the UK, Germany, all those towns. They only had us once or twice a year. Those towns had so much energy. They were so much fun.”
Before naming the United Kingdom and Germany, Undertaker recalled chewing out the crew during one live event tour in Australia.
“I think this was the last time I was champion. I was doing both shows. LA was Monday, Tuesday was San Diego, then we had to drive back after the show to LA to catch a flight to fly to Australia to do three or four live events and then make it back to California to do Monday Night Raw again. It was brutal. We do that, we fly all night, we get to Australia. This is around 2008 or 2009, somewhere in there. We get to, I think it was Sydney and it is packed. It’s a million dollar house then. I know you guys fall asleep on a million dollar house now, but back then, it was big. I’m sitting there watching the matches, everybody’s tired. I’m jet lagged, I’m tired. I would say 80% of the matches were just dogshit. Match after match, I’m getting madder and madder because everybody’s feeling sorry for themselves and not taking in the appreciation of having that house. I get back, I was on last. Fit Finlay, he was the producer. I said, ‘Fit, do you mind if I speak?’ He knew exactly what I was going to say. I ended up cutting a promo on our crew, most of them had never experienced the arena so empty that you could take a handful of rocks and not hit anybody. We had battled our way through that and now you have this kind of house for a non televised thing and you’re just gonna dog it and call it in? No. The atmosphere and the tempo was much better the next night in New Zealand.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Cody Rhodes talked about his support for live events. Fans can check out his full comments by clicking here.
