AEW World Title Number One Contenders Match Set For AEW Grand Slam Australia

A huge contest has been announced for AEW Grand Slam Australia.

The January 28 episode of AEW Dynamite opened with a singles contest between Kenny Omega and Rocky Romero. Omega was able to pick up another win, further propelling him towards the AEW World Championship picture.

After the match, Tony Schiavone joined Omega in the ring and made a big announcement, revealing that he will face the winner of tonight’s bout between Andrade and Swerve Strickland on the February 4 episode of AEW Dynamite. Along with ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, Omega, Andrade, and Strickland will all be a part of a Contenders Series that will determine the two names that will clash at AEW Grand Slam Australia in a number one contenders match for the AEW World Championship.

The winner of that match will challenge MJF for the title at AEW Revolution in March.

Fightful will update fans when more information is revealed about the ongoing Contenders Series.
