Jim Ross Says Powerhouse Hobbs Called To Thank Him For Everything, Expects Hobbs In The Rumble

Powerhouse Hobbs has departed AEW and reportedly signed with WWE, but has yet to debut.
Hobbs had been with AEW since 2020, winning the AEW TNT Title and Trios Titles. On commentary, Jim Ross always spoke highly of Hobbs, putting him over at every turn.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross commented on Hobbs potentially debuting in the Royal Rumble.
“I’m especially excited about Big Willie [Hobbs]. That’s not a secret. I don’t know if it’s a secret or not. He’ll be in the Royal Rumble, I think. Why in the hell would you sign a guy this close to a major event and then not utilize him? That’ll be a new face. He looks great. He called me a day or two ago, thanking me for my help over the years. I said, ‘Well, my phone number isn’t going to change, big fella. If you need me for something, need a little motivation, a question answered, or just want to shoot the shit, I’m your man. I want to help you if I can.’ I feel that with everyone in the business,” he said.
Ross said that he is proud of Hobbs, and that his life is going to change.
