Tommaso Ciampa Confirms WWE Offered Him New Contract: “I’ve Got Not One Bad Word To Say About WWE”

Ciampa looks back fondly on his time with WWE.

For the first time since 2016, Tommaso Ciampa is wrestling for a promotion outside of the WWE. He allowed his contract with the company to expire, and just a week later, Ciampa debuted for All Elite Wrestling and is officially on their talent roster.

During an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Ciampa confirmed that WWE offered him a new contract. He said he had to do what was right for him and his family and stated that he has nothing bad to say about the company.

“Yeah (WWE offered me another contract). Yeah. We chatted, and it was somewhere in the last two to three months, and we chatted a handful of times, and I just needed to do what I thought was right for me, my wife. I’ve got not one bad word to say about WWE. They gave me an incredible opportunity and an incredible platform, and the last 10 years, I learned a ton. I’ve evolved a ton, and it’s time for me to just take all of that and really apply it… That’s the biggest part for me was to just take the lead to it.”

Ciampa’s final match under contract to WWE was on the December 19th SmackDown, during which he and Johnny Gargano fell in defeat to Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov.
