Trey Miguel Opens Up About TNA International Title Win: “I’m Very Happy To Still Be With The Company”

Miguel looks back at his victory.

It was at TNA Wrestling’s No Surrender special where Trey Miguel defeated Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo to capture the TNA International Championship.

Miguel opened up about the title win as he was doing a virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest. Miguel also spoke about his moment backstage with Grammy Award-winning artist Jelly Roll.

“I love TNA, I always have. I’m very happy to still be with the company. Coming back and having an opportunity like this right away is super cool. No one wants to come back home and then sort of get lost in the shuffle or anything like that. It started with the Feast or Fired match. I won briefcase number four. That sent me to No Surrender to face Stacks for the championship. We had a great house… Jelly Roll was there. He came backstage after the match, gave me a huge congratulations, told me ‘good job.’ He enjoyed the match. That was super cool.”

Miguel made his return to TNA Wrestling in January. He and fellow members of The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz & Myron Reed) were signed to All Elite Wrestling, but Miguel was let go from the company.

It was ‘heavily implied’ to Fightful Select that the decision to let Miguel go was from Warner Bros. Discovery, and it stemmed from a homophobic social media post that Miguel sent out in 2020. Miguel apologized immediately after sending the post.
