Cody Rhodes Discusses New Talent Emerging On WWE Main Roster: “That Makes The Best TV… I’m Not Budging, Roman’s Not Budging, Punk Is Not Budging”
Rhodes addresses the fresh faces on the main roster.
As Cody Rhodes was sitting down with Jonathan Hood for an interview, he opened up about the fresh faces who are emerging on WWE’s main roster, such as Je’Von Evans, Oba Femi, and Trick Williams. Rhodes also made mention of NXT talents Ethan Page and the new North American Champion, Myles Borne.
He said there are ‘freshmen who are joining varsity.’ He stated that he’s excited about it and it makes the television product better, but guys like him, Roman Reigns, and CM Punk are not budging.
“Somebody said something in Gorilla (Position) — it might have been (CM) Punk while AJ (Styles) was in the midst of his retirement speech. I think he said, ‘We’re gonna see a lot of these in the next few years,’ and I think that’s a beautiful thing, but I’ve been pointing to the same three guys all day: Oba (Femi), Trick (Williams), Je’Von (Evans), and then I could also talk about Kit (Wilson). I could talk about Myles (Borne), I could talk about Ethan Page. There’s a reload that’s happening. Freshmen who are joining the varsity team and that makes the best TV, because I’m not budging, Roman’s not budging, Punk is not budging, and that’s what makes for really competitive — the real side of the entertainment industry. ‘Unreal’ is gonna be loaded for the next few years because that’s what it is and that’s the clash that makes our business great.”
Rhodes will be sharing the ring with two of the names he mentioned in Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams. All three talents will be competing in the men’s Elimination Chamber match on February 28th at the WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event.
