CM Punk Retains World Heavyweight Title At WWE Elimination Chamber, New Women’s IC Champion AJ Lee Celebrates With Punk
Punk and AJ Lee are both champions.
The WWE World Heavyweight Championship was up for grabs at the 2026 Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event. CM Punk put the title on the line against Finn Bálor.
Elimination Chamber took place at the United Center in Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Punk’s entrance started with ‘Sirus’ by The Alan Parsons Project, which was the song used by six-time NBA Champion Michael Jordan when he was introduced at Chicago Bulls’ home games at the United Center.
Punk put Bálor away with the G.T.S. to retain the title. Post-match, Punk did Roman Reigns’ signature ‘1s to the sky’ gesture as Punk and Reigns are set to meet in the main event of WrestleMania 42 with the World Heavyweight Title on the line.
Punk and Bálor shook hands after the bout, and after Bálor exited the ring, the newly crowned WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, AJ Lee, showed up. She celebrated with her husband as they are both champions in WWE.
