Penta Views Lucha Underground As His ‘High School’ In The Wrestling Business, Open To Rematches With IYO SKY & Chelsea Green
Penta also wants to mix it up with his brother in WWE.
From the first season until the last season, Penta was a part of Lucha Underground. His time on the show saw him capture the Gift of the Gods Title and become a two-time Lucha Underground Champion.
While guest appearing on No-Contest Wrestling, Penta looked back at his time on Lucha Underground and said that was his ‘high school’ in the wrestling business.
The matches he had in the organization with Chelsea Green and IYO SKY were brought up. Penta said he’d be open to running it back with either of them in WWE. He then added that one of the matches he has his eyes on is defending his WWE Intercontinental Title against his brother Rey Fenix.
“I saw that match with all my respect because it was a different chapter in my career,” Penta said about his bouts against Chelsea Green and IYO SKY in Lucha Underground. “So basically, every single match in Lucha Underground — to be honest, Lucha Underground was my high school in this business. Because there, I learned everything about the cameras, there I learned about the times, the timing in the match. This is special thing when now, it’s very important in every match to Penta. But, why not? I don’t know if possible but, Penta’s ready for everything. Penta’s ready for maybe other match against Chelsea or IYO SKY, or maybe Rey Mysterio… Even with my brother? Oh, why not? I don’t know if possible but, imagining those different things. Penta against Rey Fenix for this title. Wow!… I’m ready for everything. When I say I’m ready for everything, it’s the truth.”
Penta won his first title in WWE on the March 2nd Monday Night Raw on Netflix, during which he defeated Dominik Mysterio to capture the Intercontinental Championship.
