El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. answers Carmelo Hayes’ United States Championship open challenge.

On the 3/6 WWE SmackDown, fans saw a backstage segment between General Manager Nick Aldis and United States Champion Carmelo Hayes. Aldis informed Hayes that he’s picked an opponent for Hayes’ US Title open challenge tonight.

Moments later, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. makes his entrance.

Hayes retained his title on SmackDown. Following their match, both wrestlers shared a moment of respect.

Dr. Wagner Jr. is the current AAA Latin American Champion, having won the title at Triplemanía XXXIII after defeating El Mesías.
