Bret Hart Says Some Dungeon Wrestling Shows Are Better Than WWE PLEs

Bret Hart comments on Dungeon Wrestling.

The Hitman started his wrestling career with Stampede Wrestling, a promotion that his father, Stu Hart, used to run. Stampede Wrestling no longer exists, but there’s another promotion, Dungeon Wrestling, that’s run by one of the Harts.

During a recent interview with The Takedown on SI, Bret Hart discussed Dungeon Wrestling, saying he’s encouraged his son Dallas Hart to emulate what Stampede Wrestling did as a promotion.

“I’ve always encouraged Dallas and Dungeon Wrestling to try to emulate the Stampede Wrestling live experience as much as possible. It’s hard because you don’t have access to the talent you had back in those days. You get wrestlers coming in, and you don’t know how good they are until they get here. There are situations where the wrestlers don’t have the experience of working every day like those days.”

Later, Hart says that some of the Dungeon Wrestling shows he watched were better than certain WWE Premium Live Events.

“I’ve seen some outstanding shows that, to a certain degree, I would say they were better than some of the WWE pay-per-views in how a wrestling show is put together.”

The Hitman continued, saying he’d love to see Dungeon Wrestling grow into a territorial-style promotion with a TV show, but acknowledged this would be difficult.

“It would be really nice to see a territorial-like wrestling company get back in business and have a TV show. Those things might be in the future for Dungeon Wrestling, but at the same time, you don’t have Stu Hart, you don’t have Ed Whalen, you don’t have that selection of talent like you used to have where you could bring in the world champion, or a guy from Puerto Rico, or a guy from Japan.”

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin recently discussed Bret Hart and why they have great chemistry. Fans can check his comments here.
