Trick Williams Says Al Kapone Gave Him The Co-Sign For ‘Whoop That Trick’

When the horns sound and the theme music for Trick Williams blares, the crowd begins chanting “Whoop That Trick” when the bass kicks in.
“Whoop That Trick” originated from the movie “Hustle & Flow” starring Terrence Howard. The movie was released in 2005. In the movie, Howard write the song “Whoop That Trick” to much fanfare.
Speaking on Ebro, Laura, and Rosenberg, Trick revealed he has the co-sign from song producer Al Kapone.
“That’s the special thing about it. People say, ‘it’s the entrance song.’ If you listen to the entrance song, it’s an instrumental. Anytime you ever heard ‘whoop that trick,’ it’s the crowd doing it. I never told anybody to ‘whoop that trick.’ I never said, ‘Go watch Hustle & Flow.’ Shoutout to my man Al Kapone, he’s the original songwriter of ‘Whoop That Trick.’ He gave me the co-sign,” he said.
While making the media rounds, Trick Williams revealed that his theme took inspiration from “Family Ties” by Baby Keem & Kendrick Lamar. You can find his full comments here.
