Swerve Strickland: It’s Hard To Compare Me To Wrestlers In The Past Because There’s Never Been A Wrestler Like Me In The Past

Swerve Strickland discusses he and Kenny Omega being unique as professional wrestlers.

On a recent episode of AEW Dynamite, Swerve would take on Kenny Omega in singles action, putting Omega on the shelf with injury following a brutal assault by Strickland after the bout.

While speaking to Rich Latta in a recent interview, Swerve Strickland discussed Kenny Omega, noting that he and Kenny share a trait in that they are unique in the past, the present and the future with regard to comparisons with other talent.

“I’m authentically myself and always have been. I never marketed or modeled myself after another wrestler, and it’s hard to compare me to wrestlers in the past because there’s never been a wrestler like me in the past. All those same exact things I can say about Kenny Omega. We’ve never seen a Kenny Omega before, and most likely, we’ll never see another Kenny Omega ever again.”
