In recent years, Ric Flair has found himself working AEW events, initially being brought in during Sting’s retirement tour in the promotion. Despite his sporadic appearances, Flair has had the opportunity to praise talent such as Strickland.
While speaking to Baller Talk in a new interview, Swerve Strickland recalled a moment where Ric Flair praised his promo skills after returning backstage from a live AEW promo.
“I will say, after I came back from a promo at AEW, I did it live in the ring and stuff. I came to the back. He was the first one. He was like, ‘that’s how you rip the mic, brother.’ I was like, yo, from Ric? That’s like the highest praise you can get. That’s the highest praise you can get from one of the best to ever do it.”
