Over the course of the past year, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams and Oba Femi have all began to make their rise in WWE from NXT to the main roster, where they have all gathered fan support in the wake of their call ups.
While speaking on Baller Talk in a new interview, Swerve Strickland spoke about black wrestlers in professional wrestling today, noting that he looks forward to Oba Femi, Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans’ careers continuing to grow.
“WWE has some guys coming up like Oba Femi, young dude, powerhouse, great dude. I look forward to his growth. Trick Williams, charismatic, can talk anybody into a building. Look forward to his growth. Je Von Evans, young guy, he grew up watching me, he said. Now he’s 21 years old, living his dream on the main roster. Great kid, looking forward to his growth.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Strickland spoke about receiving praise from Ric Flair after coming backstage from cutting a live promo. You can read more about that here.
