Dominik Mysterio Def. El Hijo del Vikingo To Retain Mega Championship At AAA Rey de Reyes

The gold remains in Mysterio’s possession.

Closing out week one of AAA’s Rey de Reyes broadcast was Dominik Mysterio defending the AAA Mega Championship against El Hijo del Vikingo. The stipulations were that if Vikingo lost, he could not challenge for the belt anymore as long as Mysterio is champion, and if Mysterio lost, he would have to leave AAA. The match was a No DQ bout.

Vikingo’s manager, Dorian Roldán, showed up and got involved. He became frightened of Mysterio, so he called down Omos to help. Omos went on to chokeslam Mysterio.

While Vikingo was about to put Mysterio away, Mini Vikingo returned and went after El Hijo del Vikingo. El Hijo del Vikingo and Omos put Mini Vikingo in the hospital, and it was at the hospital where El Hijo del Vikingo showed up and attacked Mini Vikingo.

Omos grabbed a hold of the returning Mini Vikingo and choked him, but Dominik made the save by low-blowing Omos. Mini Vikingo and Mysterio began hitting Omos with chair shots to chop him down.

Mysterio then hit Vikingo with a chair and followed that up with a frog splash to retain the title.

Dominik is now set to defend the AAA Mega Championship against the 2026 Rey de Reyes tournament winner, El Grande Americano II.
