Maxxine Dupri reflects on her WWE tryout and the biggest thing she remembers from it being the pain of running the ropes.
At the 2021 SummerSlam WWE tryouts, Maxxine would make her case to be signed to WWE as a full time professional wrestler and now five years on, Dupri is an active member of the WWE main roster and is a former WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion in her own right.
While speaking to Adrian Hernandez in a new interview, Maxxine Dupri reflected on her WWE tryout, noting that the biggest thing she remembers is how bad her back hurt from hitting the ring ropes.
“Oh my gosh, probably how bad my back hurt from hitting the ropes. It’s actually really crazy because the second day of the tryout, the back of my ribs were legit bruised. But it’s interesting how then when you start training, you truly do build this callus, and now it’s like, oh, I love hitting the ropes. It feels like I’m home.”
Late last year, Maxxine would get married. You can read more about that here.
