Rey Mysterio Confirms He Suffered Fractured Ribs In January
On the January 26 episode of WWE Raw, Rey Mysterio was helped to the back after his match against Austin Theory. The referee threw up the “X” sign, indicating a potential injury. Mysterio was not part of the post-match attack and was favoring his leg at the end of the match and while being helped to the back.
He traveled to Saudi Arabia and still competed in the men’s Royal Rumble match. On the following episode of Raw, it was announced that Mysterio suffered multiple injuries in the Rumble.
Speaking to Adrian Hernandez of Unlikely, Rey was asked about his injury status.
“Much better than when it actually happened. That injury occurred on the Monday leading into the Rumble. Fractured ribs, both left and right, those take a little bit of time to heal. On the way up,” he said.
It is unknown when Rey Mysterio will return to the ring. He was part of commentary of AAA Rey de Reyes on Saturday.
