Callum Newman Wins 2026 New Japan Cup Tournament

Newman makes history.

The finals of the 2026 New Japan Cup tournament took place on March 21st—the final featured Callum Newman versus Yuya Uemura.

The bout ended with Newman putting Uemura away to win the tournament. Newman is now the youngest New Japan Cup winner in history at 23 years old.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling President Hiroshi Tanahashi presented Newman with the tournament trophy.

While delivering his post-match speech, Newman stated that he’s now New Japan’s ‘ace’ and stared Tanahashi down.
