Seth Rollins: I’m Extremely Proud That The World Heavyweight Championship Is Likely Going To Be Featured As The Main Event Night Two Of WrestleMania, The True Main Event Of WrestleMania

Seth Rollins comments on the upcoming World Heavyweight Title match at WrestleMania 42.
At WrestleMania 42, CM Punk will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns, who won the 2026 Men’s Rumble Match. Before Punk won the title at last year’s Survivor Series, the belt belonged to Seth Rollins. Rollins suffered an injury at Crown Jewel 2025 and had to relinquish his title.
Speaking with the Boston Herald recently, Rollins discussed the Punk-Reigns match likely headlining Night 2 of WrestleMania this year.
“I’m extremely proud that in all likelihood the world heavyweight championship is going to be featured as the main event Night Two of WrestleMania, which in my opinion is the true main event of WrestleMania. Roman talked down about it as if it were a second-tier title when it was introduced, and so did a lot of other people. I felt it was extremely important that our world championship wasn’t monopolized by a guy who wasn’t going to be there enough to help elevate the talent with that title – and that’s Roman. He took the part-time schedule and he’s earned that right. On the other hand, we needed a world championship that was going to be represented every week on the Raw brand, one that would allow new stars to be created. So I’m very proud that that belt will be in the main event of WrestleMania.”
Rollins returned to WWE programming at Elimination Chamber 2026, attacking The Vision’s Logan Paul.
In another interview, Rollins revealed that he’s not gotten medically cleared for any physicality in the ring yet. Fans can read more about it here.
