Original El Grande Americano Attempts To Unmask El Grande Americano II, Steals Rey de Reyes Sword

The celebration segment ends in chaos.

Closing out AAA Rey de Reyes week two was the celebration segment for El Grande Americano II winning the 2026 Rey de Reyes tournament.

With his victory, he earned a shot at the AAA Mega Championship and was set to be presented with a ceremonial sword.

The likes of Chessman, Texano Jr., and Cibernético were present for the ceremony. They joined the ring with Dorian Roldán and his mother, Marisela Peña-Roldán. Then, the 2026 Rey de Reyes winner, El Grande Americano, was introduced. He showed respect to the lucha libre legends in the ring and then spoke against those who support the Original El Grande Americano. He called him ‘shorty from the USA.’

AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio showed up as he’ll be defending the title against El Grande in the future. He congratulated El Grande for winning the tournament and mentioned that Rey Mysterio had never done that, and Rey had to translate Dominik’s slight for the English broadcast feed.

Dominik put El Grande on the spot about wanting his title, but the Original El Grande showed up and ambushed El Grande II. Dominik Mysterio let the attack happen, and Original El Grande tried to unmask El Grande II, but Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano stopped that from happening.

The Original El Grande then took the ceremonial sword that belongs to El Grande II.
