Thekla speaks on AEW still being an underdog and ‘punk alternative’.

Over the years, AEW has grown as a promotion, but continues to promote themselves around to being the alternative promotion to WWE, and for the AEW Women’s World Champion, it continues to be the underdog.

While speaking to Jimmy V3 in a new interview, Thekla was asked how her run in AEW has been so far.

“It’s been great, really. I think AEW is such a perfect place for me after being in Japan for such a long time, but also being from Europe and having that that DIY background from over there. So I think I like to see AEW still as the underdog and the punk alternative kid, you know what I mean? We’re just so much more into whatever we wanna be into without thinking what is gonna be appealing to the masses and stuff like that. I think it’s so much more for people who are into art and design and trying to put something new on the table. So I’m really happy to be part of that and represent that in the highest way possible.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Lee Moriarty spoke about learning from the rosters of AEW and Ring Of Honor. You can read more from that here.
