Callum Newman On Will Ospreay: All Of My Accomplishments Have Been Off My Own Back, Not His

Callum Newman maintains that his accomplishments are his own, not Will Ospreay’s.

Newman has found success in NJPW in recent months, including most recently winning the NJPW Cup earlier this week, defeating Yuya Uemura, resulting in him becoming the youngest New Japan Cup winner in history at 23 years old. Back at New Year’s Dash, Will Ospreay would come to the aide of Newman and other members of United Empire, with Newman seemingly considering hitting him with a steel chair in the aftermath.

While speaking at a press conference following his victory, Callum Newman explained that while Ospreay got him an in with NJPW, his accomplishments are his own and United Empire is his now.

“He got me an in, and then he left for another company, the rival company. All of my accomplishments have been off my own back, not his. Since he’s come back (at New Year Dash)  there’s been more contact and he’s more supportive, because it’s my group now. Sorry big bro, but United Empire’s mine now.”

Newman is currently scheduled to challenge for the IWGP World Title at Sakura Genesis. You can read more about that here.

Ospreay recently returned to the ring after undergoing serious neck surgery.
