Speaking with Adrian Hernandez recently, Fletcher reflected on the comments he made that day and said he was very upset with himself.

“That comment that I made the other day, I was very upset with myself for the way I worded it. I would like to apologize for the way I spoke and the words that I used. I think the words I used are a bit insensitive, saying it was one of the worst days of my life. My thought process when I was answering that [was] I never want to talk about somebody else’s story. That whole situation – A lot of it is Adam’s story to tell so when that question was asked, they asked me about my emotions so I did my best to kind of not address what happened with Adam to the best of my ability and just focus on how I felt. Truthfully, that was one of the worst days of my life

There’s this weird thing nowadays where kayfabe exists but it kind of doesn’t. All the stuff that happened with him, I have people in my ear saying, ‘Oh, you should be saying in promos that you injured Adam Cole and using it for heat or whatever.’ I never felt good about that. So I’ve tried my best to stay away from talking about it. But one of the reasons it was one of the worst days of my life is because, I had to watch someone that I admire very much and look up to stand in the ring, cry and say that he might may never wrestle again. Then I had to go out into the ring and perform, knowing that it was possibly my fault, that everybody in the arena knew it was my fault. I’m sure you can imagine the headspace. It was a rush of emotions. The whole situation was horrible.

Again, I really don’t like talking about it. I don’t feel like I have the right to complain about any of it because what Adam is going through and has gone through, my feelings pale in comparison to it. But I was asked about my feelings that day when I answered the question. So that’s what I tried to talk about. Again, I apologize. I think I used some pretty bad wording, but those were my genuine feelings.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kyle Fletcher talked about his wrestling dream. Fans can read more about it here.
