Ricky Saints Addresses Reaction To Concert Segment On WWE NXT
Saints addresses the segment.
Going into NXT’s Vengeance Day Premium Live Event, there was a segment on the March 3rd NXT on The CW during which Ricky Saints held a concert to mock his forthcoming opponent, NXT Champion Joe Hendry.
The segment was met with mixed reactions on social media, and Fightful Select reported that the idea was not Saints’, but he did write the material. It was noted in the report that Saints tried to stray away from what would get him compared to The Rock.
Saints was asked about the segment and the reactions while speaking to the New York Post.
“I’m a great singer. I play guitar. I learned how to play guitar that day. I don’t know if I really thought anything of it. I didn’t watch it back. I still haven’t watched it back because I really don’t watch my stuff. I think there’s a balance of something being good in an entertaining way. I think there is something to being bad in an entertaining way. I know it was pretty split. Some people loved it, some people hated it. I just never had that in my career where I was in that type of situation (for a non-wrestling segment). I think everything is going to be subjective in what you find entertaining and what kind of misses the mark.”
Saints is set for the NXT Championship Fatal 4-Way match at Stand & Deliver. He’ll be in the bout with Tony D’Angelo, Ethan Page, and the champion Joe Hendry. There will be a contract signing on the 3/31 NXT.
