Lady Frost Discusses Her History With CMLL, Winning The Tag Copa With Dalys
Lady Frost comments on her stints with CMLL.
Before signing with AEW/ROH, Frost had a brief run with CMLL in late 2022. Primarily competing in multi-woman tag matches, Frost quickly established a group of fans in the promotion.
For some reason, Frost wasn’t brought back to the company until February 2024. From that point on, she teamed with names like Taya Valkyrie and Tessa Blanchard.
Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for a new interview, Frost talked about her mindset during her first tour with the company.
“That happened before Ring of Honor and AEW. It was right at the end of TNA. I was like, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t know if I want to be done.’ I was so just disheartened. That was on my bucket list. I went there and I just had the ‘don’t give a shit’ attitude, right? I was all in black. I didn’t want to be looked at as a character almost, which is wild. I love character work, but I just wanted to be a wrestler. I wanted to show out and you really don’t get an option when 30,000 people are cheering for you. Their booking decision came from the first night. I did five shows in six days and by the end of that tour, they had pushed me right to the end. I did the Grand Prix tournament. I actually won the Tag Copa with Dalys at the time and that had nothing to do with anyone else. That was just I went there to show out, be a worker. I had five great tours there and then ironically, when I was with AEW, they partnered with CMLL and I had only gone over one time representing them. It’s very separate, which seems wild because those two are working brands.”
Continuing on, Frost stated that she tries to make the best out of every moment in her career.
“I think there’s something to gain from every different wrestler. You just have to pull whatever strengths that you can meld together. I think that’s one of my attributes as a wrestler. I have such range of different styles. If it is a tag team, it’s just AEW, you’re thrown into a situation and you have to make the best of it. I think every step of the way of my career, I’ve just tried to make the best of it. Although I do feel at this point, it’s not make the best of it. It’s give everything that I have and MLW seems to want to run with that. They like what I have to offer. They’ve been following me and I think it’s going to be represented in a much better way.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Lady Frost had high praise for Toni Storm and Lena Kross. Fans can check out her full comments by clicking here.
