NJPW Sakura Genesis Results (4/4/26): New IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Gabe Kidd Returns, Masked Individual Confronts Konosuke Takeshita

Ryōgoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo played host to the 2026 installment of NJPW Sakura Genesis. There were a total of 6,009 people in attendance.

Two of the highlights of the night are Callum Newman becoming the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion. He is the youngest holder of the title at 23 years old.

Also, after Konosuke Takeshita and Shota Umino’s NJPW World TV Title match went to a 15-minute time limit draw, a masked individual showed up and confronted Takeshita. Chase Owens then showed up and ambushed Takeshita from behind. The masked individual never entered the ring and then proceeded to head backstage. Shota Umino returned to the ring to save Takeshita from Owens’ attack.
