Pat McAfee Claims There Was No Script For SmackDown Promo, ‘This Is Real’

Pat McAfee and Randy Orton aligned on WWE SmackDown as McAfee was revealed as the mystery man speaking to Orton. After taking out Cody Rhodes, McAfee explained that he was confused as to why business and numbers were down when someone like Orton is around. He blamed Cody, and said Orton would save the business.

Speaking on his show, McAfee continued to advance his point.

“Let’s see how this goes. Let’s see what happens. You don’t think there are multiple layers to this shit? We don’t have a lot of time until Mania. Just a few weeks away from 15 world titles being secured by Randy Orton and the business being saved. I think we got off to good start. 20 years of history between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, and Randy Orton is the greatest. He walks in a room and everybody goes, ‘That’s what a WWE superstar is. That’s what a sports entertainer is.’ I’m happy that I got a chance to be in the ear, ‘Now is the time to save the business.’ Was there ever a script? No. This is real,” he said.
