Bishop Dyer Explains Why He’s Selective With The Bookings He Takes, Says He’s Not Wrestling For The Money At This Point

Bishop Dyer is being selective with his bookings.

Since being released from WWE in the later part of 2024, Dyer has only consistently wrestled for a handful of promotions like MLW and Maple Leaf Pro. While chatting with Denise Salcedo for a new interview, Dyer talked about his decision to return to those promotions for multiple events.

“The way it is run is very professional, which I love. Again, it’s not a shot at anyone, but I’m just not doing indie companies where it’s just a total shit show for a lack of a better term and it’s chaotic. I get it, guys gotta go through that to get where they want to be. I’m a little more picky on the shows I want to do, so MLW has been a great spot. Same with Maple Leaf Pro, I love working for Scott as well. Both of those companies are so professionally run and it’s such a pleasure to get there. It’s not about the money for me at this point, obviously I do get compensated for my time but that’s not my driving factor. It’s really neat to be able to kind of pick these companies like MLW where I feel like it is super pro, everybody there is super talented and it’s a great experience every time I’m there. Like, it can’t come fast enough. Get me to the show on Sunday, let’s get through those ropes, let’s get in front of the crowd. Like, it’s so addicting to be a performer in this. When you step through those ropes, there’s nothing like it. For me, it’s what keeps me alive in a sense. It’s just fulfilling and I love it. MLW and Maple Leaf Pro provide that immensely with the talent they bring in and the guys I get to step in the ring with. It’s just so fun and I love it.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Dyer gave his take on the current feud between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. Fans can check out his full comments by clicking here.
