Seth Rollins Says WWE WrestleMania 42 Match Against GUNTHER Came Together ‘Over The Last Couple Of Weeks’

Rollins speaks about his WrestleMania bout.

On the docket for night one of WWE WrestleMania 42 on April 18th is a singles bout between Seth Rollins and GUNTHER.

Rollins spoke about the bout during his appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. He shared that the match against GUNTHER ‘kind of’ came together over the last couple of weeks.

“The idea of missing WrestleMania — when I first got hurt in October, that was the first thing I thought of. I’m like, ‘I gotta get back by WrestleMania.’ Yes (that was my goal), and I’ve been in this scenario way too many times — to get hurt and then maybe miss WrestleMania. I missed one WrestleMania in my career and it was one of my lowest moments and so I’m very happy to be back and be able to get in the ring. Not just do a run-in or anything like that but actually have a contest. Wrestling one of the best in the world, GUNTHER, in a match that’s kind of come together over the last couple of weeks and so I’m pretty excited for that one.”

Rollins underwent shoulder surgery in the fall of 2025. The bout against GUNTHER will be his first match since then.
