Wrestling boots may be the usual footwear warn by pro wrestlers inside the ring, but many pro wrestlers also wear other forms of footwear such as sneakers, with Chuck Taylors also being a popular choice in the wake of AJ Lee’s rise to stardom wearing the shoes in the ring. Now, another WWE star has reflected on wearing the shoe brand while performing.
While speaking on Complex’s Sneaker Shopping, Rhea Ripley spoke briefly about previously wrestling in Chuck Taylors.
“I used to wrestle in Chucks. Dude, AJ Lee wrestles in Chucks. Still. They’re comfortable shoes and they’re just reliable.”
Rhea was then asked if she could still wrestle in Chuck Taylors, noting that she feels like she could still wear them in the ring comfortably and perform.
“I think I could still wrestle in them. Especially the high top ones. Low boys might be a little hard, because there’s no ankle stability there. But the higher ones, for sure.”
