Pat McAfee Addresses Fans Who Wanted The Rock or Vince McMahon As The Mystery Caller

Pat McAfee addresses his involvement in Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton.

For weeks after he betrayed Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton was on the phone with someone who was counseling him.

That man turned out to be Pat McAfee.

McAfee revealed himself on the April 3 episode of WWE SmackDown, kicking Cody Rhodes in the dick and burying the business.

On the latest episode of his show, McAfee addressed those disappointed that he was revealed as the mystery caller.

“‘How come it was McAfee on the phone?’ Because I fucking called him and told him, tha’ts why. ‘I wanted it to be The Rock.’ You think The Rock wants to do anything for you? ‘I wanted it to be Vince McMahon.’ Vince? Sorry. It was me. It was me,” he said.

The Rock hasn’t been on WWE TV since Elimination Chamber 2025 when he aligned with John Cena, taking out Rhodes. Vince has an active lawsuit against him by former employee Janel Grant, who has accused him of sexual assault and sex trafficking.

McAfee is set to corner Orton when he challenges Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.
