Nick Khan Says The Political Environment Is Too Tough To Make Into A WWE Story, Won’t Have ICE Officers Arresting Superstars

Nick Khan doesn’t want to do political angles on television.
WWE has often mirrored the political environment or real world issues, making it into a storyline where America usually comes out on top.
In 2026, Nick Khan is looking to stay away from that on television.
“It’s too tough with the political environment now. To have ICE officers arrest Dragon Lee? We did it for a moment of time for NXT when we were coming out of COVID, the guy who is the Wyatt Sicks now, Joe Gacy, before he would bodyslam you, he would apologize. It didn’t work. Everything ‘I’m sorry.’ Life is wrestling, wrestling is life. Both reflect one another. The Sgt. Slaughter thing where he’s an Iraqi sympathizer. Bring in the Iron Sheik as Colonel Mustafa. Brings in Adnan Al-Kaissie as General Adnan,” Khan said while speaking to Bill Simmons, who asked about WWE potentially mirroring the current environment.
The angle referenced by Khan was WWE’s take on the 1991 Gulf War.
President Donald Trump is a WWE Hall of Famer, and Triple H has made multiple visits to the White House, which has been highlighted by WWE.
