Leila Grey Provides Update On Recovery From ACL Surgery, Credits Mercedes Moné For Staying By Her Side After Injury

An update from Grey.
During the December 6th episode of AEW Collision, Leila Grey challenged Mercedes Moné for the TBS Championship.
During the bout, Grey suffered a torn ACL. She successfully underwent surgery in March 2026. Grey provided an update on her recovery during a virtual signing for East Coast Autograph Auctions.
“I’m actually healing up pretty well so, keeping up with my therapy and yeah, we’re gonna come back strong.
It’s a long process, but, I’m trying to stay positive. Doing what I gotta do… to come back strong, make a big comeback because I miss all you guys so much. I miss going to work, I miss wrestling, I miss being in the ring.
It’s gonna be a long recovery. That is for sure, but, I am definitely doing good on my physical therapy and I’m healing up and I’m going even a little faster than the healing timeline by my doctor so, it’s going good but it’s definitely gonna be a while.”
Grey went on to share that Mercedes Moné did not leave her side after the injury.
“Of course,” Grey responded when asked if Mercedes Moné reached out after the ACL injury. “Of course she did. Yes, and she was with me the whole time afterward. She did not leave my side. Mercedes has been great.”
There is no timetable for Grey’s return to the ring. She was a part of the SkyFlight faction (Scorpio Sky, Dante Martin, Darius Martin & Christopher Daniels). With Grey being out, Zayda Steel joined the group.
