Silas Mason Recalls Working On ‘The Iron Claw’, Says He Is Zac Efron’s Favorite Wrestler

Silas Mason discusses ‘The Iron Claw’.

Mason portrayed Terry Gordy in the 2023 Von Erich Family film, which also starred huge names like Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White. and Lily James.

Chatting with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Mason said that he is Zac Efron’s favorite wrestler.

“I’m Zac Efron’s favorite wrestler, you know that, right? When we filmed ‘The Iron Claw’, he literally told me, ‘Man, you’re my favorite wrestler.’  I said, ‘Zac, stop, you’ll make me blush and then I’ll have to do my makeup all over again.’”

When asked about his experience on the film, the ‘Thrillbilly’ joked that he’s been ripping off Terry Gordy for years.

“It was a dream come true. They asked me if I knew who Terry Gordy was before and I said, ‘Brother, who do you think I’ve been ripping off this whole time?’”

Silas Mason rounded out the topic by saying that Jeremy Allen White took to the in-ring nature of the film like a duck to water.

“Jeremy Allen White because he had an amateur background. Had to get that lockup from being tight and snug to the big production, but other than that, he took to it like a duck to water.”
