Aaron Wolf Comments On EVIL’s WWE Debut, Potential Name Change

EVIL is officially a WWE-contracted talent.
The April 28th episode of NXT on The CW saw former IWGP Heavyweight Champion EVIL make his WWE debut. He confronted the current NXT Champion, Tony D’Angelo.
The day after EVIL’s debut was NJPW’s Wrestling Hizen no Kuni event. One of the talents in action on the show was Aaron Wolf, who made his in-ring debut at Wrestle Kingdom 20, and his opponent was EVIL.
Wolf spoke to reporters (via Tokyo Sports) and commented on EVIL’s WWE debut. He thinks they may face each other again.
“If we’re both in the same pro-wrestling world, it’s possible we’ll face each other again, and I’m looking forward to seeing how he fights on U.S. soil from now on.”
EVIL was not referred to by name during his WWE debut, but his IWGP Heavyweight Title win was mentioned. Wolf commented on the potential of a name change for EVIL.
He stated that he’ll always know him as his current ring name. He compared it to Daniel Radcliffe being known as Harry Potter.
“Personally, I’ll always remember him as EVIL. Just like how Daniel Radcliffe is strongly associated with the image of Harry Potter. Even if his name changes, I think I’ll watch him and think, ah, it’s EVIL.
Coming up on May 3rd, Wolf will be in action at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku in a singles bout against Don Fale.
