Rossy Ogawa Names His Potential Successor To Lead Marigold, Reveals Natsumi Showzuki Is Helping With Accounting

Ogawa names his potential successor.

In 2024, Rossy Ogawa unveiled his Dream Star Fighting Marigold promotion. The promotion is inching towards its two-year anniversary show.

An extensive interview with Ogawa was pushed out by BBM Sports, and he spoke about being 69 years of age and how much longer he believes he can continue being in the role he’s in. Ogawa is at the majority of Marigold shows, but knows he’ll have to find a successor at some point.

A potential candidate he’s eyeing is Takahiro Masumura. Masumura is Marigold’s Event Manager and was STARDOM’s Event Manager from 2013 to 2024. Also, Ogawa revealed that one-third of the Marigold 3D Trios Champions, Natsumi Showzuki, is helping with Marigold’s accounting and has been very helpful.

“I’ll be 70 next year, and I figure I can keep doing this as usual for maybe another five years—health-wise and physically speaking. I think I’ll just take it five years at a time… I’ll probably keep doing it (laughs). But if I do, the question is how far I’ll go. If I rate my current level as 100, will it be 70 or 50? I’ll also need to find a successor.” Ogawa was asked to clarify if he meant successor as head of Marigold, and he replied, “Exactly. I’ve gone to all the trouble of creating it, so I want someone to take over for future generations. There’s still the other organization, after all.” He was then asked who the top candidates were for that role, and he said, “The top candidate is probably Takahiro Masumura (Marigold Event Manager). Judging by the trust the wrestlers have in him. But the work is completely different. Right now, Natsumi (Showzuki) is helping with the accounting, and it’s been a great help.”

In the same interview, Ogawa revealed that Victoria Yuzuki is under a five-year contract with the promotion. To read more, click here.
