Rossy Ogawa Hopes Marigold World Champion Miku Aono Can Become Face Of The Promotion

Ogawa has high hopes for Aono.

Since October 2025, Miku Aono has been in possession of the Marigold World Championship. She’s had three defenses of the belt, and as of this writing, her latest was against Utami Hayashishita, who is set to leave Marigold.

An extensive interview with Marigold founder Rossy Ogawa was pushed out by BBM Sports. He expressed that he hopes Aono can become the face of Marigold.

“Miku Aono is doing her best, but I think she has even more potential… She’s still far from showing her full potential. I don’t think even she knows just how strong she really is… Lately, she’s been going out on promotional tours to regional areas on her own. I think she’s going to become the face of the company. She’s so personable that everyone who meets her ends up becoming a fan.” The interviewer compared it to how NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi is always doing media to promote NJPW, and Ogawa said, “Exactly. I think she’s going to become the face of the company. She’s not intimidated, and she has class. She’s the kind of person we can promote as the promotion’s ace and the face of the promotion.”
