Harley Hudson Grateful For Year-Long Time Gap Between Winning Gut Check & Signing With TNA

Hudson speaks about the time in between.

It was in October 2023 that TNA Wrestling, then-IMPACT Wrestling, brought back the Gut Check challenge.

One of the talents who emerged victorious from Gut Check was Harley Hudson. With her win, she earned a developmental contract and a bursary to train at the Can-Am Dojo in Canada.

Hudson told the Hitting The Turnbuckle Podcast that there was a year gap between winning Gut Check and actually signing with TNA. She is appreciative of that time and stated that she had about 170 matches.

“So, I think since, obviously, I had a period of time between winning Gut Check and actually getting signed, and then, an even longer period of sorting visas out. So by the time the signing was announced, I’d had about a year and a half to get my ducks in order and sort myself out… I felt like I was ready at Gutcheck as in, like, I wanted to do it. I was so grateful that I had that extra time. I think in the year leading up to it, I had 170 matches, and obviously, when someone says, ‘Oh, you’re gonna be going to TNA,’ you definitely waking up and going to the gym, pushing a little bit further, you know what I mean? Doing a little bit more. It was great motivation to have for that time so I think by the time I actually got on the plane and came over… and I’m not the sort of person to say, oh, I deserve this and I deserve that but I felt like I put a lot of time into it, into wrestling, do you know what I mean? From a young age, I was like, ‘Yeah, I wanna be here and I wanna be completely out of my comfort zone.’ I think that’s the only way that you can sort of make changes and get better is doing something that’s quite scary.”

The 23-year-old Hudson is still working independent dates. She was last featured on TNA Thursday Night iMPACT on the 3/26 show in a six-woman tag team match.
